As spring plows ahead here with warmer weather and ‘longer days’, it’s nice to have a contrasting project come in. Wooden Walnut Creations!!
Cedar box mania is still in motion with spring planting and abundant sunshine in full swing. It’s great being able to build boxes to customer size and specification and then hear their planting stories a few weeks later once they take that 9th trip to finally get enough fill dirt 🙂
As a woodworker variety is always appreciated. I love cedar and it’s lighter tones, easy workability and great versatility. Walnut is a really fun wood species to work with as well though. It cuts well, has really ‘moody’ tones (at least in my opinion) and often polishes up nicely depending on the application.
I have a few walnut live edge slabs that are here for a couple of different projects. Two are small and one is a bit on the larger side. Am I purposely being vague? Yes! You’ll have to tune back in for the next entry to see just what those projects might be. Any guesses? I mean, it’s wood…so the possibilities are nearly endless.
