It’s always nice being able to ‘leave your mark’ on a custom wood project. No, I’m not talking JUST the phenomenal craftsmanship and end result of the project…I mean a little action with laser engraving wood projects 🙂

As a woodworker there is often a tool that can help make things easier. What I’m writing about here is a laser etching machine. I picked one up a handful of years ago and have only more recently started using it on some of the woodworking projects.

This has become a great way to subtly ‘brand’ my builds and custom furniture items in a subtle location.

With the abundance of cedar planter box builds recently I wanted to test it out on those since the finish is often a bit more “rugged” or “rustic”. I was not disappointed to say the least. This little unit really did great at laying down the Ironproof Timberworks logo. I’m definitely looking forward to using it more and more on future projects.

What’s your way of ‘leaving a mark’ on something you’ve built?
