That time old saying “Spring is in the Air” happens every year…you know it. Here’s how I embrace it…

Inevitably spring rolls around each year. Depending on your exact location it hits a little earlier or a little later…but it’s there. “Spring fever” never ceases to remind folks of how stir-crazy they might have been over winter. I myself go a little nuts and get ‘winter-madness’ from spending much more time inside with the windows closed and hoping the shorter darker days disappear quickly.

Okay okay, enough ranting and rambling…back on track. Spring is in the air as a woodworker often means it’s time for cedar planter boxes…dozens upon dozens of planter boxes. I often have a number of local customers that want planter boxes for flowers, herbs, veggies and general growing. I also end up making a number of new connections this time of year through these boxes. They are straight forward projects for me, budget friendly for my customers and drastically better than the cheap pressed wood ‘garbage’ you’ll find in a lot of the big box stores.

Local craftsmanship baby!

I was able to get started on building up some inventory early this season and we’ll see if it was worth the effort. Time to stay focused!

What’s your go to spring mantra? What motivates you as we come out of winter hibernation?
