What’s your story? What’s your history with becoming a woodworker? What do past designs tell us about this type of skill?
Looking back on what some may call ‘historical furniture’ can perhaps tell us a lot about where we’ve come from as woodworkers. Some designs look medieval or possibly privative. Some designs may seem timeless and ‘forever useful’.
Today’s entry is short and simple. A look back at some very old hand crafted furniture. A basic table and chairs to presumably sit, eat and that’s about it. Not meant for lounging or relaxing, at least from how I interpret their appearances.
What does this mean with designs through time? Have we evolved for more comfort? Have things become better with modern tools, designs and techniques? I for one say yes.
What do you think? What designs are vintage, classic or inspire you?
