Yes…there’s a quiet simplicity in sanding with woodworking.

I get it…sanding can be the bane of your existence as a woodworker. The drone of the sander, the seemingly endless back and forth motion and switching through the grits to get a final smooth surface. It’s at times a tedious task, but always worth it.

One quick tip I’ve learned over time is to ‘water pop’ your project. You can read a little more on that in a post I did HERE

My point in sharing again today is to keep things simple sometimes. We can get carried away on projects sometimes (myself definitely included) and a reminder to keep things simpler in nature may often be best. Sanding isn’t immune from this either. Choose three grits to sand with, water pop in between and see how your finished results end up. For me I try finishing a project with 80, 100 and then 120 grit all water popped in between.

I’m often slightly amazed at the results. Give it a try and let me know what you think. Happy sanding!
