Sometimes good things DO come in small packages! We’ve had a bunch of fun this spring making cedar planter boxes. Straight forward projects, customizable and great rustic designs. How can you kick that up a notch?? Make them mini of course!

It’s likely not the next “big” trend in cedar planter boxes, but it’s fun.

The popular cedar planter boxes we’ve been making for the local Colorado market is a favorite. Simple designs, great sizing and yes as mentioned earlier – rustic looks with the ‘rough finish’ cedar.

I took things down in size and made some “mini” ones this past week just to see how they’d turn out. Honestly, I was surprised at how much fun they are for smaller plants, décor, accent pieces, garden inserts and of course gnome action.

Sizes and styles on these can vary wildly and they are really photogenic (the boxes, not the gnomes).

I often find that when a project seems challenging or overwhelming it’s a great option to step back, look at the simpler projects you have and then find a really great way to make those FUN…miniature anything can be fun without a doubt.

What’s your go to for taking a step back from bigger or challenging projects?
