Okay I get it…staying ‘centered’ and calm during a project can sometimes be a real challenge. Sometimes however it’s great to have a project that is JUST focused on Zen…

We all get caught in our daily routines. Work, play, chores, family, errands, tasks…the list goes on and on. Feeling present with any given project or task that you’re in the middle of can be a serious challenge.

Today’s entry is simple – find and focus on a project that is ONLY (or mostly) Zen and not high pressured.

These ‘micro’ planter boxes I’ve built don’t serve as fully functional planters. They don’t hold a lot of soil or sizeable plants and can potentially get lost in a front garden. These were simply something fun to make that’s low stress and allows me to relax with the tools and precision. It was a simple project to focus on being present and enjoying the process instead of focusing on the outcome and urgency of completion.

Tiny sizes and simple angles made this fun and easily accessible. The time commitment was minimal as well (under 20 minutes). It was a nice break from the sometimes constant forward motion of daily life, tasks and projects.

What is your go to zen? What helps you take a break from things sometimes?
