I’ve long had a history of fabrication & working with my hands.
I started woodworking over 25 years ago. Many of those early lessons and skills have stuck with me to this day. Throughout the years I’ve expanded my skillsets to include metal fabrication, welding and small scale engineering.
There have been countless detail oriented projects that have been driven by my desire to problem solve…creatively. Wood has always been a warm & uniquely personal medium to work with. Every timber, board, plank & piece is one-of-a-kind and can be forged into something that no one else on the planet has.
Ironproof Timberworks is the culmination of years of fabricating and making things, especially with wood/timber & metal. The mission statement of “timeless designs . fearless craftsmanship” is somewhat self explanatory. But this is the about page right?? A little more detail is in order.
A “timeless” design is very subjective. At some point in history someone thought bellbottoms would be timeless…or perhaps the mullet haircut. To myself and the team I work with, timeless very simply means that we feel a piece will look great for the next year, ten years or 100 years in nearly any setting you place it in.
The “fearless” approach to craftsmanship comes from a love of problem solving. Digging in to find creative solutions with an almost engineering-like pathway is what sparks us. Fabrication (or to fabricate) in it’s very meaning can also be defined as create. I enjoy fabrication and the art of creating things without a fear of making mistakes or having speedbumps (aka mini failures) along the way.
